Can someone point me to the directions on checking this, I think you measure resistance across pins but not sure of details and I cant find it anywhere?

I think I have a slight miss while at highway speed. put in new plugs and plug wires already, think its still there........o r more likely its nothing..... I'm always waiting for the "next thing" to give me problems....I need to just drive this brick and quit being so anal about what might be going wrong!

General Buick Tech / New DP, low boost

Installed a 3 in DP, set waste gate to have about 1/32 inch tension to get onto pin. Have RJC boost controller maxed out and only pulls 19 LBS boost. with stock housing this setting would produce 26 LBS boost.  Stupid question but if I adjust wastegate arm to 1/8-3/16 tension will it increase boost or is the boost controller going to override that setting?

Also related question, new DP has the large 1.5 inch puck. hole in turbo is 1 inch, whats the advantage of increasing the size of hole in turbo?

Been looking at the intercooler threads. Seems the RJC is the most preferred..... serious $$$. Don't see many used FMIC come up for sale. Was looking around and this one looks very close to the GN1 units, that being said I am very aware you get what you pay for. I'm not looking to build a 9 sec car so I just wondered if anybody else has used one of these. With the IC and a pipe kit a guy could get set up for less than $300.

Just looking for any experience, good or bad......Thank s!

Trying to descide on next upgrade this winter. Which will give best performance gain, 3 inch DP, roller rockers, or larger intercooler... ...or something else, sig below show current equipment. The 3 things I listed are all currently stock.

Hey guys. In my hunt for a leak free Buick one sore spot for me is, when im testing or at the track at high rpm it pushes out oil through the dip stick tube. Not alot but makes a mess. Tried an o ring set up but have not run it yet. Anyone have a proven solution.....o r am I the only one with this issue

Can the intake gasket be re-used? I have an oil leak down the back side of the block. Pretty sure I must not have put enough black rtv down and now the prick leaks :013:

I figured I'd start a thread on this, my help others in future also.

I waited way to long on doing this but ordered one this morning and I'm sure I will have some questions along the way. Did a lot of reading on them and seem lots of people struggle with all sorts of different things. That being said it also looks like they can do some pretty awesome things and if a guy figures out the ins and outs of them and you should really be able to get some performance.

That being said, computers hate me, and vise versa, the main reason I procrastinated on this purchase, so we will see how this goes.

finally got a day to tune a little. re-set FP to 43 with hose off, put it back on and set out. started with top of 3rd tuning, got it down to 808 and then went to first gear/ launch tuning. I have a knock alarm, and what I believe to be tire spin related, knock alarm goes off, SM didn't record any knock. So any way, launched twice, both times alarm goes off so I lift. I have first gear TT chip set at 125, 3 lower than default. I go again and ignore alarm and keep in it ( probably not smart but pretty sure it false) run it up to about 100 and check recall, shows low O2's of 782 at 96mph and .02 knock at 21, run again, alarm goes of as tires start to spin, run it up to about 100 again and hit recall. This time its shows 796 at 98mph and 4.2 knock at 17 mph. 

down pipe seems to have plenty of room around it? really cant figure out this knock/false knock issue. before I started tuning, just pissing around with chip on defaults it was kicking the alarm off when I would jump on it from a stand still??

Any ideas where to look next? I would think if its real knock it wouldn't be going away and it dosent happen at higher speed full throttle runs

Get it back together and start to tune it. Go out to shop after a few test runs and have a puddle of coolant :013:  looks like the upper rad hose outlet on the radiator has developed a leak. I replaced both hoses when I did the motorwork and it must have cracked when I did that......I love this car until I hate this car :icon_eyes:
