Hi All,
Would it hurt if replacing the rear end fluid with Mobil 1 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart,
plus adding GM Fluid 88900330 Limited Slip Axle Lubricant Additive - 4 oz., and of coarse including a new Fel-Pro gasket

Okay since this is my first time of replacing the rear control arms, is it possible of doing one side only without having the rear end to drip downward?
The procedure I was thinking as follows:
The car is supported on all four floor jacks and the hydraulic jack is supporting the rear end
remove wheel
remove lower control arm, and then remove the shock absorber nut to lower the rear end a bit in order to remove the spring.
Once the spring is remove this will give me better access to remove the upper control arm while all of the passenger side control arms and spring are still intact.
Would this sounds okay, you is there something that needs to corrected?

I have a question to my dilemma
After the front end suspension replacement, is when I realized many, many years ago I replaced the Front Suspension Stabilizer Bushing, and founded the factory the bolts were stripped. At the time I was away from home and the only way to repair was to drill an enlarge clearance hole to fit a bolt inside the body frame channel and place a nut on the mounting bracket.
Now after so many years this mess has came back to haunt me.
I need to know is there anything else besides the bolts that hold the steering box unit to the body frame. The reason I’m asking I look inside the Front Suspension Stabilizer Bushing bolt hole and saw the body frame shape is in an upward angle towards the last steering box support bolt.
I’m in the process of using the Big-Sert 5015 M10X1.5MM Oversized Metric Thread Repair Kit and the drill bit and threaded tap might hit up against the body frame angle. If it’s only the angle frame then not a problem, but I hope there is nothing else inside the body frame
I hope I explained for all to understand what I’m trying to say.

Hi All, I'm a bit confuse since my 87 GN is mostly stock especially when it comes to exhaust stock system. What I don't understand from the factory it never had a gasket between the Turbo and the downpipe. Has anyone also had no gasket between the turbo and downpipe or did you did have a gasket in place? Can I use one the following: Permatex hi temp ultra copper gasket maker

Hi All,
It seems after all the work of resurfacing and welding both stock headers, both headers now have more crack than I want to deal with.
Someone has a stock ATR header, I want to know what are they worth?
also, what's the difference between ATR header and Poston's header?
Also, Would a stock downpipe work with ATR headers?

Happy Thanksgiving to your Steve and everyone on board,
Steve, I know talked about front coil spring replacement, but being I'm in the process of replacing lower A-frame bushings and both ball joints, then why not replace the coil spring with new ones.
My question which one is better quality made, and would also be a direct stock OEM replacement?
1 - Moog 5606 coil spring

Are there any torque spec for upper, and lower ball joints, or is just tighten nut and place cotter pin?
Also same torque info for lower A-body frame nut and bolt

I'm in the process of replacing both upper and lower ball joints, and I was reading you can add an Moog K160044 Coil Spring Insulator to reduce noise since the factory didn't come with one. Is this necessary to add this or don't bother installing the Moog K160044 Coil Spring Insulator?
