this part would be very difficult to re-create

Whoa.  That's not what I have.  I have the powdercoated stainless parts that replaces the prone to rust mild steel parts.  The kit includes that center rail piece that the T-tops fit into and the L-shaped pieces that .... you know what I'll just attach a link to GBP website showing the kit I have. http://www.gbodyparts.com/product_info.php?cPath=46_22_23&products_id=1677&osCsid=da98fa84ac69badbfc294b3c37eefd11

Oh damn!! Thats the part that I couldnt afford with the header panel. So I decided to buy the header panel for now as I couldn't afford to spend an additional $599 on those parts

$599 because I had already purchased the weatherstippin g seperately. That kit looks nice, but that $599 plus the $249 was pushing close to $900 after shipping. Possibly more. Thats where the 1k in parts came in at

Since the parts are stainless GM can't do much. The patent rights would only be in effect if the parts were mild steel and since this is an improvement it doesn't violate the original patent, plus I'd bet GM didn't renew their rights on the original design. All it takes is to make 1 change of a part and the patent rights don't apply. :icon_fU:  However, if Brian didn't patent or copy write the parts anyone can make them.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Damn Clay, thats super nice of you. Please DO let me know.  I was gauging how much to donate towards your roller, and if you can save me some more $, it can just towards the donation.  The guy that I'm working with has agreed to make the plates himself, but the only thing he wouldn't be able to re-create IS the header panel.  Thanks a lot. I will continue to watch this thread closely
Phil I would MUCH prefer if you got your guy to make the parts.  Use whatever money you were thinking of donating to me to go towards the cost of that guy making the parts.  This way I can give my kit to TurboPower68 and prevent 2 sales of that kit from GBP.  It is yours if your guy can't do it but if he can then lets make a point to GBP.

EDIT:  I just caught up reading everything and see that you've already donated money.  I wish we could have facked him out of two sales.  I'll get what I have together, let you know whats missing, and get it out to you.

No need!!!! The parts that you have I already have my guy making Clay. You can send them to Turbopowered68!!!! the only part I was ordering from GBP is that header panel. Otherwise, I have my guy making the other parts.  I was donating to your cause REGARDLESS you sent me parts or not.  I just want you to get your car back on the road. SO, FOR A FINAL STATEMENT, YOU CAN SEND THE PARTS TO TURBOPOWERED68!!! I'll keep you guys posted on this project!! Thanks a lot Clay for even considering sending those parts.  Thanks a lot

I was originally going to buy that kit when I realized that I ALSO needed the header panel. I couldn't afford both, so I opted to purchase the header panel and have my guy just fab up some of the plates. The kit that Clay has is real nice
