are you aware what "jeep" stands for?

just everyone elses parts.

AMC used parts from all manufactures, ford, gm  chry,
so depending the year,  etc..

AMC  always used their own V8 in wagoneer's, J10's
290, 304,343, 360, 390,401 all the same platform,  some interchangeabi lity .
390 was the HP engine, but  limited  production,
401 can be found, and is a bolt in, with no mods,
the 727 trans (in there now) will have a AMC bellhousing, so will only fit AMC.
for a carb,I'd suggest  edelbrock 600/650 cfm,  the metering rods can be tuned for
exceptional  mileage, (for a jeep) ( have never seen better than 15mpg)
anything bigger will slow the  intake velocity, and the carb will not atomize as well,
I doubt  you will ever exceed 5000 rpm, so no need for big carb, big cam, etc.
if you change heads, 1974 and later have hardened seats ( must have nowdays)

took em to a aluminum polishing shop,  $500 later,
polisher complained about how difficult they were to do.
dismounted of  course,
yes, they sand them smooth first,

I like them ,as  very few are like them,

next brain fart  is polished 18in GNX rims , (all polished, no black)

that 360 is an AMC ,not a mopar!
and should have  T400  trans,  (amc bolt pattern  on the bellhousing)

best upgrade would be a amc 401,  100 % bolt in,

the 360 are reliable as heck,  for torque, I suggest  alum intake, and free flowing exhaust,
the heads have 30 degree seats, and  lend themselves to  good  3 or5 angle valve job.
big improvement  there, also, any cleaning of the ports  will help alot,
a cam will help, but  keep it under 218 @50 duration, and possibly 2 to 4 degrees advanced,

my J10 quadratrac would smoke all 4 tires from a standstill, (360)

General Buick Tech / Re: Razor Alky Pump-How To Check?
« on: August 26 2017, 12:13:46 PM »
it also depends on where you have the gain, or  amount setting , on the controller,
mine makes little difference  in rpm when I test it,
never checked the 02, thanks for the tip!

Car Stereo and Electronics / Re: antenna connection
« on: August 21 2017, 09:57:54 PM »
car is all orig,  factory  antenna wire,
does factory  radio use  std  antenna  wire?   plug in type,
seriously thinking of up grading radio,  but want  OEM look,
and thats not possible,
found an older, new in box,  pioneer 1.5 din,
but like to have  bluetooth,
any suggestions on  nice looking stereo, (cheap)
not into 1000W and 12in bass, speakers, seldom turn the radio above talk
volume.

Car Stereo and Electronics / antenna connection
« on: August 21 2017, 12:16:40 AM »
I replaced the old  non working antenna,  with a std, fixed mast , with std  coaxial  connector,
obviously it does not  connect to  existing  antenna   wire.
so my question is,  just purchase an extention  antenna wire? from new antenna wire to radio?
orig radio still in the car, and speakers too! ( hey they work)

now days,  "barrier hose"  is the   hose to use, it has an additional  layer of nylon (or some such material)
 to better  seal   the freon,

it available  at most parts houses,
or  ColdHose.com

« on: June 15 2017, 12:20:36 PM »
not sure if they are similar or?
I just installed a set of TA hyd rollers,  and  found they have about .070 internal travel,
way more than I thought,  and in order to get them quiet, I had to  add close to 1/2 turn ,
I'm guessing  .020-.030 ?  oil pressure  is super, 60+ cold, and 40+ hot.
if I wanted  more rpm, I'd have used solid rollers,

these were supposed  to be Morel lifters,
I wanted quiet vs hi rpm. beside my cam is all done a 5600 , ( nothing like putting a 7000 rpm lifter on a 5000 rpm cam)

two of my  friends have them, one white, one gray.
they love em!  but at 4200+ lbs, it NEEDS that much  HP to be fast,

they both said  not  a poor mans toy, as tags (in Kalif) and ins  are ballistic!

( owners are Neil Stewart, and Lou Czarnota) ( yes, THAT Lou!)
