I always used amazon till they started taking taxes. Now I'm back to ebay.
With Highwaystars, all I ordered was door gaskets and all the plastic clips they sell. Featherweights .
Glad I tested them out before I bought the heavier more expensive stuff.
Gbodyparts is price matching for me :). I've never had a problem with any vendor though.
We'll see how it goes.

Right. It just looks bad to charge high shipping. Then you add in no options.

I just received a reply from highway stars concerning shipping questions I had. They don't care, it's their way or the highway. I feel they're using shipping to make extra money. $20 to ship small lightweight pieces regular FedEx ground. Then there's the numerous email issue from them reminding you to purchase what's in your cart. I'm like I know, I don't need four emails a day to remind me. So I emptied my cart. Off to old reliable gbodyparts I go. I was just trying to be nice and throw HS a few hundred $s during this restoration. I feel they gave me the middle finger in regards to shipping. Just my 2 cents.

I was thinking

Maybe the back seat brace bolts loosened up or moved around. I just need to weld in the GNX piece.

Steve your right. I wouldn't have even thought about it.

Let me add more to the mix. Aftermarket speaker, concert sound, inside door painted, bottom inside door probably coated with something heavy. Now we're talking two pounds.

I'm already prepared to buy lighter speakers. I've always been paranoid with my stock doors. What I'm worried about most is where the hinge connects to the body.

The good thing about replacing the doors is that when I feel like it I can restore the old doors and sell em. I don't have time to get into that project right now as I'd make them as perfect as possible, like new doors.

I'm want to replace my doors. One has a little rust that may be bad in 5 years. Replace the whole thing and start fresh.

The ones I found are a half pound of so heavier. I'm concerned. I don't want to be the guy 10 years from now saying "yeah I went with the heavier doors and now my hinges are bad and the columns they bolt to are warped". Not to mention warpage that could happen where the door bolts to the hinge too.

Opinions? Go!

Great picture. On my way to compare tire dimensions now. BTW I have the 275 mikey Thompson drag radials.

Looks like cooper has expanded their cobra tire line. I swear they only sold 225 and 245 back in the day. Earl says 295? Damn son!

My 295 Cobras are damn near the exact width as my old 275 radial T/A's.  The tread itself is a lot wider but the actual tire width is the same.  I'm running factory wheels that were widened and given an extra 1/4BS over stock with alum drums.  I've never verified the BS but if Jim did what I asked for the centerline of my rim should have moved outward 1/4" plus the extra 1/8" for the drums totaling 3/8" to the outside.

...just a hair under 2.5 beer can's per tire.

You might want to look at the tire rack's (or whoever lists actual dimensions) website and compare the 275's you're looking at to what you actually have now.

The really cool thing about the Cobra's is they are audible when spinning in the rain. I dove my GN to the post orifice earlier and it sounding like I was killing basset hounds running 60 while a little bit sideways. :D

Steve the only thing I don't like is the redesigned centercap. Oh well can't have everything my way. I know it's for the best.
