Title: Check coil
Post by: Shimy87 on May 24 2017, 10:22:07 AM
Can someone point me to the directions on checking this, I think you measure resistance across pins but not sure of details and I cant find it anywhere?

I think I have a slight miss while at highway speed. put in new plugs and plug wires already, think its still there........o r more likely its nothing..... I'm always waiting for the "next thing" to give me problems....I need to just drive this brick and quit being so anal about what might be going wrong!

If it's missing under load...high gear...then I'd bet dollars to donuts it's the module. If one coil goes bad...it'll pretty much drop a cylinder. I had a coil pop on a run...felt like I hit a wall it slowed down so much. Run CR43TS plugs gapped to a tight .030...and stock wires.

A few years back my car seemed like it was missing. Something went wrong in the ECM...and made the TPS jump around.

If you have PL...make a log...you'll 'see' it missing.

To check for the issue I had...turn the key to run...hit record on PL...and push the throttle to the floor nice and easy a couple of times. Should have a smooth pattern...if it's saw toothed then you have a TPS issue...and it will feel like a miss.
