A bunch of us went to the dragway tonight. For the last two
months, my boss has been bustin' on me that his El Camino with a 454 BBC
was going to kick my ass. So tonight it was on. I hooked, and he didn't.
I ran 13.8 @ 98.4 (untuned) to his
15.5 @ 92 ish !
The next round, I raced another big block car.This guy Carl that hangs out
with us has a '69 Camaro. He got me off the line But I passed him at about the 330.
At about the 1/8th my driver's side header let go (Sending me to the Sylvan learning center ! :rofl; ) But I still won with a 14.1 @ 98 to his 14.8 @ 94.
He ended up having problems with his engine, and rode the trailer home.
A buddy of ours hauled my bosses car trailer there in case someone broke something. Another friend of ours has a Cheyy stepside with a stout 406 SBC
That was pulling 13.3 @101. His lights stopped working, so they wouln't let him race anymore for the night. He ended up leaving the truck there and riding back with me.
He's going to pick it up in the morning when its light out.
Except for Carl, all in all it was a fun night.
