Title: IE 8 Question
Post by: Scoobum on August 04 2011, 08:26:39 AM
I tried ordering a chip from Eric...but was unsuccessful. I e-mailed him and he said my computer is blocking cookies from his store. How do I go about allowing cookies in IE 8?

Use Firefox. :P

I need to order a chip from him too - replace this useless 100 octane chip.

It's not useless. Send it in to Eric with your new chip order...and you get a credit towards your new one.

Is there some reason you want to use a browser that does not work?
Just get on with it and set Firefox up and all the problems will go away.

Well, I planned to do that. I have another TT chip to send in once I get the alky control.

Go into tools then hit internet options. Open up privacy tab and set the slider to medium. That will let in most cookies. If you want you can set browsing history to clear all footsteps and cookies at shutdown if you are nervous of the medium setting.

Well, sometimes that works, but mostly not   Firefox has it's own unique set of problems.  It certainly isn't perfect.

A little tweak here and another there, and IE works just fine, and is more than safe enough.  IE9 works even better.

I ran IE8, Firefox, and Chrome all together to test them over a several week period.  Firefox was the first one dumped.

Agreed all of them have some sort of issue.

My personal preference is konquer.

You wouldn't have waited nearly that long to dump Safari.

Poor Opera, doesn't even get a mention anymore.

I like Firefox. Used to it I guess. Not the new version though. 4.x.

The last time I upgraded FF I added the mod that made it look like the old version

Good to know. I hate 4. And IE9 - Just don't like the tab layout, etc. I didn't think about a mod. I have the latest 3.x version saved - that should get me by for awhile. I use FF heavily at work.
